| Gas: Gas prices strengthened yesterday. Turkish and Pakistani military deployments to Saudi Arabia to combat the Houthis have raised further concerns about expanding conflicts in the Middle East. Prices have opened stronger this morning. Power: Power prices also rose yesterday, tracking the underlying gas market. EDF strike action in France was expected to conclude last night, which would provide some relief and limit gains in the market this morning, after a bullish opening. Oil: Oil prices settled and traded flat yesterday, recovering from early losses as the market weighed up increases in exports via the Middle East and attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia. Prices have risen this morning as a storm is forming in the Gulf of Mexico to become the first hurricane of 2026 and would likely hit oil facilities, pausing extraction. Carbon (EUAs): The ICE Dec-26 closed at €84.78/t last night. The contract opened this morning at €84.55/t. Carbon (UKAs): The ICE Dec-26 traded to £60.46/t yesterday. This morning the contract opened at £60.13/t. |
