Wholesale gas and electricity prices finally dropped back a little bit in the UK yesterday, Thursday, but are still at exceptionally high levels.On the generation front, UK electricity was at £140 per megawatt hour, which is approaching the highest it’s been.

TPG’s view is firming that clients with contracts expiring in the next six months have limited options in the short term but can secure far better pricing in the long term by committing to contracts two or three years in advance at this stage.

While historically our advice was always one-year contracts, with the current geopolitical situation in the world, that strategy is demanding review.
