Wholesale Gas and Electricity prices rose on Monday, in line with the colder weather.

Gas: Prices rose yesterday as colder weather increased gas fired generation demand, offsetting strong wind output. Tensions are also beginning to heat up again in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, pressuring prices.   Power: Power prices moved upwards yesterday, tracking movements in NBP. This morning the power markets have opened slowly, with any trading very similar to last nights close.   Oil: Prices rallied yesterday as conflict between Russia and Ukraine heighten increasing risk premiums on crude prices.   Carbon (EU ETS): The ICE Dec-24 rose to €69.5/t yesterday. The contract is currently trading at €69.62/t.   Carbon (UKAs): The ICE Dec-24 closed at £38.15/t last night. The contract is currently trading slightly higher at £38.23/t this morning.
