Wholesale gas and electricity prices were stable on Monday, following the healthy reductions seen over the last few trading days. One-year contract prices are around £75 per MWh for electricity and 75.9p per therm for gas, with very narrow ranges of less than 5% between 1–3 year pricing.
| Gas: NBP prices were mixed yesterday. Declines in demand, below average wind generation and an unplanned outage at the Norwegian Troll facility helped create challenging market conditions. Power: Power prices fluctuated yesterday. Downwards revisions to wind forecasts influenced prompt pricing. Season ahead prices were supported by the benchmark UKA Dec25 contract. Out on the curve prices largely followed NBP. Oil: Prices settled slightly up yesterday following the US president’s meeting with the Ukrainian PM. The front month is currently trading c.$66/bbl. Carbon (EU ETS): The ICE Dec-25 closed at €71.82/t yesterday. The contract opened at €71.77/t this morning and is currently trading at €72/t. Carbon (UKAs): The ICE Dec-25 rose to £51.08/t yesterday. The contract opened at £51.38/t and is trading back at £51.13/t at the time of writing. |
