Prices finished the week on Friday with very little movement
Gas: Gas prices completed last week volatile. Prompt prices slightly rose as supply concerns with maintenance extensions battled with a decline in demand due to a forecasted increase in Wind generation.
Power: Power prices finished the week mixed. Wind generation is expected to reach 12.1GWs this week, 20% above seasonal norms and Carbon contracts continued to soften. Losses were limited due to the uncertainty in the Gas market.
Crude: Oil prices finished last week on another rally after some better-than-expected economic results from China. Chinese industrial production increased by 4.5% month on month, with retail increasing by 4.6%. China accounts for 80% of oil demand growth.
Carbon (EU ETS): The ICE Dec-23 closed at €82.31/t last Friday. Opening today at €82.06/t, the contract has softened and is trading at €81.47/t at time of writing.
Carbon (UKAs): The ICE Dec-23 closed at £38.32/t last Friday. Opening at lower this morning, the contract is currently trading at £37.04/t.
