Wholesale gas and electricity prices continued drops of recent days on Monday as there was good wind generation with the storms and energy shipments were arriving as scheduled.
Gas: Prices continued their descent yesterday, with several contributing bearish factors. After weather related delays, LNG deliveries have now recommenced at Milford Haven. At midday yesterday the grid was forecast to finish the day long.
Power: Power prices fell yesterday, tracking NBP movements. Temperatures are set to remain within seasonal norms throughout the rest of the week whilst wind output has been revised downwards, likely adding support to gas for power generation.
Oil: Crude prices rose yesterday with the conflict in Syria continuing to pressure prices. Front month prices closed last night around $72.07/bbl.
Carbon (EU ETS): The ICE Dec-24 closed at €66.37/t yesterday. The contract is trading higher at €66.94/t this morning.
Carbon (UKAs): The ICE Dec-24 closed at £34.73 /t last night. The contract is currently trading lower at £34.3/t.
